Out of all the information obtained from research and presentations, the question remains: which president did it better, Bush or Obama? Starting off in Iraq, Bush managed to stop Saddam Hussein and have him hanged for his crimes. He also was involved in the start of the Afghanistan war but Obama took over in the end of the war. Obama also managed to stop a dictator, Osama Bin Laden; something Bush did not accomplish. When Obama took office the war did escalate but eventually he did put it to an end. The two wars costed the U.S. a lot of money but when we look into it, Bush spent $815 billion on a war he started to take down Hussein and Obama spent $686 billion on an already ongoing war to take down Bin Laden.

Kids started failing more tests because the criteria became harder so it cover all areas of learning. The act was supposed to result in 100% proficiency in all public schools by 2014, but instead came crashing down in 2007. The first six years was actually a big hit, test results were improving, but somewhere after that it took the plunge. Some of the biggest problems with the act were that the government didn’t have enough money to support it, it focused more on certain subjects, all students were held to the same standard, and teachers could only teach what was going to be on the tests. On the other hand, when Obama came in he created the American College Promise which provides free tuition for the first two years of community college. It is meant to give more Americans a chance to make a better future for themselves by giving them a great opportunity to go to further schooling than high school.
