Especially, when growing up with different values, morals, and religious belief in a country like America where society is made up of different cultural backgrounds. She raised her family in America, so she had to adapt to the morals and values of America vs her values; and morals from Africa. For example, when I moved out of my parents’ house to live with my boyfriend, my mom was upset because in her culture you must get married first before you can live with a man. At times my mother even struggled with teaching household chores because my American friends would spilt up all the household duties vs mom who was taught that a woman should do all the domestic duties like cooking, cleaning, and caring for family.
