On April 6, 2009 there was a terrifying tragedy at the Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Where two high school students by the names of Dylan Klebold, age 17, and Eric Harris, age 18, shot and killed 12 students and one teacher at the Columbine High School where they were currently enrolled. There were millions of people around the world questioning why these two students would do such a traumatic thing for all of these innocent people? Most of the people have come to one of two wrong conclusions on why they shot and killed 13 people. Harris and Klebold planned this attack for a whole year and dreamed of a much bigger outcome. What these two boys did was aimed at students and teachers, but it was not inspired by hatred of anyone in particular. The students and teachers were just an easy target, one of the investigators described it as “collateral damage.” The killers, in fact, watched videos about the Oklahoma City bombing and laughed that the insignificant school shooters. Columbine was not only a shooting, but it was intended to be a bombing on an immense scale. Harris and Klebold had wired timers to a propane bomb they had set in the cafeteria, that bomb alone would have killed over 600 people. But they didn’t have enough experience wiring bombs so that bomb did not go off, thankfully. After the bombs in the school cafeteria went off, the two students planned to shoot down the fleeing survivors. There was another surprise that Harris and Klebold had waiting for everyone. Their cars were packed full with more bombs in them, for when the reporters, rescue workers, and survivors arrived. They were hoping the climax would be captured on live television for the world to see. Their vision and dream was to create a nightmare, so disturbing and apocalyptic that the entire world would tremor at their power.
