Code Of Chivalry for Actors by: Leah Bess Talent: Actors are obviously required to have talent, otherwise, every ‘plain Jane’ could become one. Talent consists of many different aspects, 2 big things casting directors look for is creativity and risk taking. They see 100’s of people do the same old boring routine all day while auditioning. They want something new, something fresh, and being the one that sparks their interest would be a giant achievement for anyone. Courage: Actors need to have courage. Without it, they will never get far in the industry. They want actors to try and take a step further than everyone else. An actor cannot allow their nerves to get to them, if they do, they would never get through an audition process smoothly.…show more content…
Always have an open mind and schedule as much as you can. If you have numerous conflicts it's likely your producer wouldn't be happy. The world doesn't revolve all around you, you must be flexible in this industry Relationships: Though it's not “required” to have good relationships with your co-workers, it's always a good idea. Developing genuine relationships with cast members can make for a more believable connection between and actor and their scene partners. It seems to be obvious when two actors don't have chemistry, it gives off an awkward vibe. It's uncomfortable for us, as viewers, to watch actors act when they are genuinely uncomfortable, too. Personality: Acquiring an impressionable personality is hard to accomplish for many aspiring actors. Being remembered from your audition is almost an automatic call-back(if remembered in a good way). Directors want actors who can bring characters to life! If you make a good impression, then it's likely they see something in you, but actors shouldn't try and pretend to be something they're not,unless they're acting, of course, because it'd make them come off as desperate. Remember just to keep your cool, and try to go that extra
