Chapter fours reality check about children and outdoor play really shocked me. The overall summery is that children are no longer getting the full amount of outside free play in communities. Outdoor play has been replaced with children sitting in a class room focusing more on the core subjects and not going outside and seeing what is going on around them. The children have began to develop nature deficiency that is leading to toxic stress and obesity (C.R 2016). A factor of these issues are that the resources are unable to be provided for the children because of their location. Their school is some children’s only safe place and going outside could harm them. These schools are in cities with little to no green grass for the children
