Gluten is the storage of proteins found in grasses such as “wheat, barley and rye” (DoAllGrains). Celiac disease is caused by an abnormal immune response to gluten. People with this disease cannot take in nutrients necessary for our body. There is also people who may be allergic to gluten and that does not mean they have the disease (Jaret). After reading “Neurologic and Psychiatric Manifestations of Celiac Disease and Gluten Sensitivity” I have learned that most of the patients that are gluten sensitive suffer from “neurological and psychiatric problems” (Jackson). In a recent study that was done the data suggested that “22% of the patients with celiac disease had a neurological problem” (Jackson). Also this topic is still very vague scientists
