Walt Disney Pixar films Toy Story, and Miguel de Cervantes's Don Quixote, are two seeming different stories at first glance. However, not only do both of these tales have a large amount in common; they actually serve as two sides of the same coin. The main characters of these tales, Buzz Lighyear and Don Quixote, are both deluded characters who must dance the fine line between reality and fantasy as they continue their journeys with their partners Woody and Sancho as they come across various characters that stand as a reminder of reality or as a symbol of fantasy all within the grand literary theme of reality and fantasy that is present throughout the entirety of both stories. Carefully examining the two stories, it becomes clear that Buzz…show more content… In his outrage of the copyboy's actions which caused the duo to become lost, the space toy yells: "Because of you, the security of this entire Universe is in jeopardy!" at Woody (Toy Story). Flabbergasted at the space toys only concern, angrily screams: "You are a toy! You aren’t the real Buzz Lightyear; you’re an action figure! You are a child’s plaything!" at Buzz while grabbing him by the shoulders and shaking him (Toy Story). After Woody releases him from his grip, Buzz merely replies: "You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity. Farewell." while giving him a bewildered look (Toy Story). It is at this point when Woody decides to use the space toy's madness for his own purposes as Buzz sets out to find a space ship that will return him back to his home planet. Woody quickly attempts to find some way to get both himself and Buzz back to their owner Andy's bedroom using Buzz’s delusions. He does this by telling him that he saw a space ship ready to launch and tries to convince him to jump into the passing stroller of Molly, Andy's little sister, when he and Buzz find themselves at a spaced themed pizza place called Pizza
