Gabor Csupo's 2007 film "Bridge to Terabithia" is set in a small town called Larks Creek. The film is a coming of age story which traces the evolution of 12 year old protagonist, Jess Aarons. Jess' experiences allow him to grow from youth to maturity. He is faced with many challenges including bullying at school as well as struggles with his relationships at home. The changes in Jess are influenced by his close friendship with Leslie but are also the effects of growing up. Bullying is the central theme that the director has chosen. It is explored throughout many aspects of the film. In the film there is a school bully called Janice avery she is mean to people. Jess' dad makes him do a lot of chores and is very hard on him Jess is a bit of an outcast in his family. He is not the typical boy of the time, being more interested in art than he is in farming. He is withdrawn and misunderstood by his parents, particularly his father. He is the only boy and is relied upon to care for his two younger sisters and for the farm chores. His two older sisters, adolescents concerned with social status, ridicule ignore him. His friendship with Leslie is one of the things that keeps him happy. His relationship with his sister Maybelle is a complicated relationship he doesn't like his sister to do activities with him and just wants to shut her out in the end when Leslie passes away he realises that his family is very important and need to mend his relationship with his family so he builds a bridge for Maybelle to Terabitha and lets May Belle cross it and become the princess of Terabitha and future leaders as his becomes more mature he lets May belle explore her imagination and carry on teribibthia for more tears to
