Over the course of six years from 1765 to 1770, Britain Parliament passed multiple laws that violated colonial legislatures, such as the Stamp Act of 1765, the Quartering Act of 1765, the Townshend Acts, and others. In response to these violations, Americans revolted by forming the Sons of Liberty, which would lead to the Liberty Riot. With the events leading up to the Boston Massacre growing tension between America and its Mother Country would only continue to grow. By passing the Stamp Act of 1765, Parliament overstepped its boundaries by not receiving consent from the Colonial Assembly.
