My story starts in my hometown of Hotchkiss CO, a small town west of Denver. During baseball season of my junior year. My best friend and I were hanging out, like we did every Friday night, and we went to the city for a Mcdonalds trip. When we returned to his house, his sister and her friends were there and they were drinking. Not really wanting to be a part of it we went down to his room and started playing video games. Soon his sister and her friends busted in and started waiving it in our faces trying to get us to drink with them. Of coarse we resisted at first but in truth the peer pressure got to me. Well soon after a police officer drove by and noticed all the cars. He parked in the street and began observing the garage watching the underage kids drinking. He then busted the party and the kids in the party gave the officer my name. Like all teenage kids in trouble didn't tell the officer the truth though they told him I had been there but left. The next morning my friend and I went to baseball practice, this particular police officer was our assistant baseball coach. When we arrived at the field he pulled us off to the side to chew our butts. Then one of the toughest things I've ever had to do in my life came.. I had to tell my head coach who is one of my favorite people in the world what I had done the previous night. He didnt get mad or yell but I could see the disappointment in his eyes. We weren't allowed to practice that morning and we had the rest of the weekend to contemplate what we had done. The following Monday was another hard day. The day we would find out if we would be kicked off the team or not. We were called into his room that morning and he said the most important words I've ever heard, "you boys put this whole season in jeopardy." I knew that of course, but it didn't sink in until
