Dear Mr. and Mrs. Poppen
There has been a debate for a long time about whether ballet is a sport or not. Most people think that ballet is an art not a sport. Dancers believe that ballet is a sport. However, ballet is known and probably always will be called an art. From the way ballet dancers bend their bodies to the necessary agility level, there are many athletic qualities shown.
More than enough people agree that ballet is not competitive. This is an untrue statement because the older ballet dancers get, the more competitive it becomes. For instance, the Youth America Grand Prix(YAGP) is a competition. It is where dancers come together to compete against one another for scholarships
