Some people post pictures or statuses of where they are or the things they do, easily opening a door for anyone to simply figure out where you are and what you’ve been up to. 2. Posts like this, had led to spouses suing for divorce, rivals seeking a way to get promoted at work, stolen banking and log-in information, etc. Criminals are always watching social media constantly, looking for vulnerabilities and vacations, picking out their next victims. 3. Some sites encourage children to join clubs and enter competitions. In so doing, they reveal their name and address and may become the target of unwelcome marketing and other material. Transition: It is crucial that any user, whether, parent, child or anybody really know this information in order to use their social media safely and effectively. III. Lastly, I’d like to share with you all how social media has sparked a rise in cyber bullying. A. Cyberbullying is similar to regular bullying, except it takes place online through abusive emails, posts, or text messages. Cyberbullies can be classmates, online acquaintances, and even anonymous users, but usually they do know their victims. 1.
