“Concern yourself more with accepting responsibility than with assigning blame. Let the possibilities inspire you more than the obstacles discourage you” (Marston). For the past few years, a huge controversy exists in term of whether or not the addition of multi-use trails would open up more possibilities or cause more harm. Part of the plan is to expand the use of all-terrain vehicles in state forests by using township roads to connect ATV trails. Currently there are between 6,000 and 10,000 miles of ATV routes/trails in Wisconsin (“Wisconsin ATV Trails and Trail Maps”). Although it may seem like there are lots of trails, adding more could created new adventures for quad riders. Quad is another name for an ATV because it has four wheels. Many people who purchase ATVs do not even have a suitable place to ride them. Instead of finding a safe and legal place to ride them, the choose to ride on private property which is extremely illegal. As more and more trespassing occurs the higher the danger is because if two people happen to be headed down the same unmarked trail, collisions are bound to occur. These collisions can cause serious harm to not only the rider but to the environment around it. If the impact causes any damage to the oil tank, then oil could be leaked all over the trail and more ATV’s will track this oil around the forest. The oil will cause damage to the soil which could potentially kill trees. What Americans do not know about oil spills is that no matter what the oil will reach some body of water which will harm animal life (Farrington). Oils spills can kill hundreds and thousands of animals depending upon the severity of the spill. Luckily these minor spills do not cause serious harm to them or the animals. Nevertheless, a small oil spill is still causing harm. The harm caused by these spills though is small compared with the new possibilities the new connections and trails could be
