Journal writing 4 After reading the poem “The Victims” by Sharon Olds, I notice that the themes of the poem is showing angriness to his or her father and sympathy to mother. This poem is about the affect of divorce to their children. This poem give message to all society where the divorce is occur. In first sentence speaker say that when mother divorce you, we were glad. All children are happy when mother divorce dad. I think speaker change tone in the above part from angry to sympathy towards their father. In the poem from (15-17) writer say that mother taught their children to hate their father’s annihilation. Anyhow, children will to remember their dad in any mode.
