These two pieces of art show two different settings, with diverse techniques in oil. Oath of the Horatii by the French artist Jacques-Louis David created before the French Revolution in 1784. The theme of the play is the fulfillment of duty above any personal feeling, represents the Roman Horatius family, they were male triplets destined to war. The artist used an olio technique to present this scenario with color contrast in the work to create a three-dimensional feel. However, L du Moulin de la Galette is an 1876 painting by French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The painter in this artwork represents a dance at the Moulin de la Galette, a popular place where people go to spend the afternoon in the Montmartre district of Paris. The painter
