Although this piece is quite short its diction provides enough information to get key facts across about certain issues in America. This fake itinerary shows a step by step schedule of what activities the Pope will be participating in while visiting the United States for the first time. These events allow the reader to see irony, humor, and satire effectively shown about controversial issues regarding politicians and religious affairs that pertain to his visit. In today’s society, religious people have the utmost respect for their religion. They dare not challenge the bible or its teachings. With that being said the speaker begins the first day off by stating that the Pope will, “Catch up on some Big Bang Theory while stretched out in bed of Bethesda MD Econo Lodge”. This shows irony, because the Pope should not really have a desire to watch the Big Bang Theory, because it contradicts the teachings of the church. It is well known that science and religion cannot coexist without challenging themselves. The speaker states the Pope will, “revel in delight of meeting so many other people who also can commune directly with God”. This is allows the audience to better understand that politicians are not as powerful as they believe to be. Politicians do not even particularly care about the poor or middle class population, it even states the, “U.N. representatives from countries with the highest income inequality” will tune the Pope out. This appeals to the readers emotions, because it makes it seem as the politicians only seem to care about the wealthy
