Golf Shaft
Graphite shafts start out as layers of graphite fibers held together by a resin that is called a binder material. These sheets of graphite fiber plus binder material are called prepreg. The graphite fibers used to make the prepreg sheets can vary in strength and stiffness to allow the shaft designer to have more creativity when designing the shaft.
These prepreg sheets of graphite are tightly wrapped around solid steel forming a medrol ,medrol is a metal rod around other material formed into the shape of the shaft.
