Have you ever just though about the history of flags and how they came to be and wondered why we can support our American flag and its history and all the other state flags but we in some places can’t support the confederate or “rebel” flag? Well I have and I believe that we should be able to represent the confederate flag and our history without it being wrong or offensive but just a meaningful piece of our history we choose to remember. I feel as if we should all be allowed to have our own opinions on the flag and be allowed to wear it and put stickers on our cars and not be judged or harped on because of it. Yes during the civil war a lot of controversy came up and a lot of racism but without all of it then how would we be right now? There’s no telling. I agree that it was, still is, and forever will be wrong to judge one because of their color or race. Back during the civil war the flag it became a divisive and violent emblem of the Ku Klux Klan and white supremacist groups. They see it, instead, as a symbol of southern pride or as a way to remember ancestors who fought in the Civil…show more content… Do you honestly not want anyone to support there lost family members and ancestors that fought, fought for them you and everyone and their safety and sacrificed themselves for you everyday until the war was over? Just think about that and the effects it has on people that cant show the support because of people who are against
