Throughout time there have been many people who have tried to explain the structures of society, and the negatives within them. Some of these people were Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, and Max Weber. These intellectuals brought about discussions on Alienation and Anomie, and how society was implementing them on the citizens. Alienation is described as the state or feeling of being separated from something you should be apart of, and Anomie is descried as a lack of a social norm or normlessness.
Karl Marx discusses Alienation by showing how it applies in the work place in a capitalist society. He states, “ under the economic system of private ownership, society divides itself into two classes: the property owners and the property–less workers.
