Loyalty is an allegiance to someone or something. Loyalty can root from either affection and admiration towards someone or from the reception of a benefit the allegiance provides. What differentiates these two forms of loyalty is the amount of effort taken to express it. The amount of effort one should put in to show loyalty towards a person they love, such as friends or family, should be close to none, loyalty should be an effortless faithfulness.
