Artistic quote: "The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides. The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence. Artistic quote: "Captain Nemo showed me the tin-plate box, stamped with the French arms, and corroded by the salt water. He opened it, and I saw a bundle of papers, yellow but still readable." - Pg. 115
This is where Captain Nemo tells Aronnax about sunken ships and pulls out a box as proof. After showing him the box, Captain Nemo admits that he admires the captain of that ship for his death at sea.
