In my opinion, the best sports team in history are the 1972 Miami Dolphins. The first reason is that they had the best record that year. Also, they had future Hall of Famers, Pro Bowlers, and great players on that team. My last reason is that they won the Super Bowl that year. The 1972 Miami Dolphins were the first team to execute a perfect regular season in the post-merger NFL. They are the only team in NFL history to go undefeated and untied in the regular season and postseason. An enduring controversy occurred when people thought the 1972 Dolphins played a soft schedule. The Dolphins were beneficiaries of a weak AFC East Division. The Dolphins’ 1972 regular-season opponents had a winning percentage of .397 and only 2 opponents had winning records that year (both the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants).…show more content…
