We all make big accomplishments; whether informal or formal, it marks a milestone. However not all accomplishments make a big significant personal effect on us. Receiving Honor Roll was a big accomplishment to me, but that did not mark my change from childhood to adulthood, community, family, nor culture wise. Getting to know who you really are, your characteristics, and feeling a change, plays a role. It even can take stepping out of your comfort zone. Entering High School I was the shy one who never liked talking out loud in a big social settings, did not interact with others, and only talked to intermediate friends. Going into my sophomore year I had a friend that was apart of a leadership program named The Mayor’s Youth Leadership Institute.
