There are many ways to use the “N “word. Some can be racial or some can be in a slang way for friend. But different people take offense to it in different ways. The word came from slave owners and racists that didn’t like black people and said things to offend them. The word has different meanings. It could mean lazy, worthless, and many other things. So many fights and riots have started because a white person called a black person a nigger. It’s very offensive to black people and many other people take offense if they have a black family member. Many people would vote to ban the racial term but not the slang one. If they banned the slang term a lot of things would change. But that’s just my opinion. I’m not African American so I don’t take offense to it. The only time I might is if a racist person calls one of my black friend a nigger. Racism is bad regardless what words you say, it doesn’t just have to be the “N” word. Racism was and still is a problem today in this world. Another thing that’s bad about saying the N word is that it can get you to stop doing what you love. Eagles Wide Receiver Riley Cooper got fined for saying that word and his career was jeopardized.
