The Battle of Lexington and Concord kicked off the American Revolution War. Tension had been building between people of the 13 American colonies and the British authorities. For example, Great Britain taxed the residents unreasonably, also known as the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, or Townshend Act. It angered the colonists, who protested against “taxation without representation.” Boston, the site of the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party, was one of the main points of resistance.
