Rights; Privilege or Requirement Human beings are monstrous creatures, one of the worst species in existence, we are much worse than any shark. There are various occasions where people are treated horribly for no reason at all, one of the worst was The Holocaust. The Holocaust was when German soldiers, ordered by Adolf Hitler, rounded up jews, forced them into cattle cars, and selected who lived and who died. Some were forced to work as slaves in concentration camps, millions were killed or died of neglect in effect to this. After the liberation of these camps, a “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” was established. The “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” protects the natural rights of humans, that they deserve with or without the government allowing it. There are thirty articles of natural rights, but the two that are most important are third article and the nineteenth article.…show more content…
No one should be killed or not given liberty, because every person has right otherwise. In the autobiography Night, many Jews are sent to the crematory for no reason other than their religion, which deeply violates the third article (Wiesel, Elie. Night. New York: Hill and Wang. 2006. Print. 34). The Jews in the concentration camps are forced to run to another camp, being shot whenever they slow or stop (Wiesel 85). In the autobiography Night, Elie and his father are separated from his mother and three sisters, violating his security (Wiesel 29). Another instance of a violation of this act is when they kill a starving man who is trying to get a bowl of soup (Wiesel 59).
