The Humble Pope Francis
“We must restore hope to young people, help the old, be open to the future, spread love. Be poor among the poor. We need to include the excluded and preach peace,” - Pope Francis. This is quote represents the Pope perfectly. As “Pope Francis Biography,” says his goal as Pope is to get it where everyone treats each other as equals. For example; helping the needy with tough backgrounds and the people with different beliefs to not judge other beliefs. These characteristics that Pope Francis has are crucial. He helps the ones who are in need, he travels to make a difference, and these reasons make him humble. Pope Francis, who is the first Jesuit priest from the Americas, wants to commit his time as pope to helping people in need. According to “Pope Francis Biography,” he also says that Christians can learn more about the poor’s lifestyles by spending time with them. A terrific example would be; “Jesus was born into poverty, he lived with people who are poor, and he was poor when he died,” (Rev. Jackson, Jesse and Ji-Sun Kim, Grace). As a bishop he would go to jails, hospitals, and shelter homes for the poor and perform the ritual, washing of the feet, on Holy Thursday…show more content… Well in the earlier paragraphs one of the reasons were that he would help the less fortunate. Another reason was he didn’t stay in the same area, he traveled around to help the less fortunate in other country. Yes, the Catholic religion does not approve on same sex marriage, but Pope Francis says, “Who are we to judge,” (Journalists Editing Pope Francis: Who Are We to Judge). People have their own beliefs, and we have to learn to respect that. Pope Francis does, and he does the little things, like riding a bus to work, that normally a pope or any wealthy person
