The majority of the book takes place in a Catholic High School. Although it would seem to be a place of morality, it is the opposite. There are rules and deviation to those rules is not tolerated. Brother Leon is often part of the corrupt behavior of the school by making a deal with Archie. He knows Archie is the leader of the Vigils and that they have great power within the school. He also begins roll call each morning with each student stating yes or no and how many boxes of chocolate sold. There is no reasoning for him doing this other than to try to intimidate Jerry and make others see Jerry as an outcast. As time goes on, the morning roll call becomes a subtle threat to Jerry from Brother Leon. I was aware that the ending would not be
