1) Partnering for Health:
Pfizer foundation has joined Pfizer India to support and help the survivors of the Himalayan Tsunami.
In June 2013, Himalayan floods devoured most of the regions of the State of Uttarakhand, washing away homes of residents of Uttarakhand and displacing approximately 150,000 people.
The death toll due to the catastrophe reached approximately 10,000 people, as per media reports. Uttarakhand is a tourist destination known for its scenic beauty and the revered Kedarnath temple that attracted thousands of tourists every year, a staggering 70,000 tourists were trapped in the Himalayan hills. Overall, healthcare rehabilitation was one of the prime needs of the extensively damaged districts within the state of Uttarakhand. The separate donations have been used to provide medical assistance to the displaced families, especially to expectant mothers and children.
2) Joy of giving:
Pfizer India united with Dignity Foundation (www.dignity foundation.com) to celebrate the festival and spread joy amidst senior citizens. Dignity Foundation, a NGO, has pledged to change the way people look at ageing in India, through opportunities for productive ageing social support services. The Joy of Giving Week is a “festival of philanthropy” which, is celebrated every year from 2nd to 8th of October by attracting people through “acts of giving’.
3) Product Donations:
For 2008-2010: In these two years, Pfizer has donated medicines to various institutions for a number of times. These medicines have helped a large number of deprived people. Pfizer has donated enormous quantities of medicines to the flood affected regions of Bihar during the Bihar Floods in September 2008.
