My junior year of high school, I transferred to a new school 20 minutes from where I lived. One of the girls I had met over the summer got a foreign exchange student from Germany. Her name is Tanja Hubrich and she became one of my best friends. We had a photography class together and since she was shy and didn’t know anyone in the class I decided to sit next to her. We instantly hit it off and talked about all of the silly first week of school things. We became closer and hung out outside of school.
