I am guilty of using weasel words, the phrase I use the most would be, “they say that”. I know who “they” are. I could back it up by saying who “they” are but I find it time consuming to explain everything so I just use that phrase as a quick explanation. I never really thought that people would think that my words are faulty. I just thought that if someone doubted what I say they would look it up on their own to see if I was right or ask me who “they” are if they wanted to know. Now that I know I am using weasel words I can stop and use a different approach to what I am trying to convey.
