Personal Narrative: How Epiphanies Changed My Life

One of my most important epiphanies changed my life forever. As a young kid, I lived, what I consider to be, a pretty normal life. I went through the motions of school, sports, and church. I had lots of friends and I thought things were going pretty good. The main problem was that I wasn’t living my own life. Most of my thoughts, beliefs, and actions were highly influenced by my family and friends. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I feel like I wasn’t controlling my own life. I tried to do well in school and please my parents. I tried to be cool to impress my friends. If I was starting to form my own opinion, it was most likely altered because of someone else’s viewpoint.
