Hospitals are the vital life lines of a progressive society and play the most important role in the overall healthcare ecosystem. Hospitals ensure a healthy society and provide relief to patients suffering from various types of diseases. However, as important the hospital is, it is equally important to ensure high levels of quality in its operations as a lack of focus on quality will defeat the very purpose of this establishment. Quality has to be ensured right from the stage of the construction of hospital billing to patient registration, treatment, rehabilitation and discharge; in short, quality should be an important part of the hospital operations. The provider landscape in the US is a controlled and organized sector, regulated by US department of Health and Human Services (HHS) (HHS, 2015) and its various operating divisions like Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) etc. Healthcare Providers or Hospitals are supposed to comply with the regulations in order to ensure high quality in providing treatment and overall experience for the patients and the society.…show more content…
