Laissez les bon temps rouler, or translated, let the good times roll, is the slogan of Mardi Gras. What is Mardi Gras, you might ask? Mardi Gras, or Carnival is a day where people gather in certain cities and enjoy a parade, parties, wear masks, beads, and other things. It takes place a day before Ash Wednesday, which is the start of Lent, and therefore is religious. Lent is a forty-day period of fasting and praying, and Lent ends on Easter Sunday. Catholics and some Christians celebrate Lent.
