A pregnant woman came in to get Lemsip Cold and Flu for herself. She had fever and felt weak due to the flu. She had not tried anything as she just caught the flu on the day before. She was 32 weeks pregnant and was in the third trimester. She did not have any other medical condition and she was not taking any other medications. After checking the AMH, paracetamol was safe for pregnant but phenylephrine which was one of the active ingredients of Lemsip Cold and Flu was in Category B2. Therefore, Lemsip Cold and Flu was not recommended for pregnant women. I let her know that there might be risk if taking phenylephrine during pregnancy.
