Upon asking me what my favorite picture book was, I knew without a doubt which childhood story I wished to share with you. Kaylee Clean Your Room written by Diane McAffee and Illustrated by Guy Francis was my favorite picture book when I was growing up.
Between you and me, it still is my favorite picture book. Why? It is a simple story about young Kaylee not wanting to clean her room. As the days continue rotten food, disgusting garbage, and different animals begin to take over her bedroom. Grasshoppers, guinea pigs, beavers, and a dragon destroyed her bedroom! At the end of the book, she has the will power to kick all the creatures, living in her room out. Who doesn’t love a little dragon in a story?
