Kangxi and Louis XIV were both the typical examples of absolutism. Therefore, a comparison among Kangxi and Louis XIV is always being studied. They both have the similar long reigns and have serval wars in order to maintain their powers and enlarge their territory. For Kangxi, internally, there was a war against the three rebel leaders; externally, Kangxi fought between the Russians and the Mongol chieftain. For Louis XIV, he came into the War of Devolution, the Dutch War, a coalition of Germans, Dutch and English and the War of the Spanish Succession. Therefore, both empires have met a prolonged war.
But, the different between two societies are obvious. The living standard of commoner under Kangxi is much higher than Louis’s society.
