2.1 Introduction
This chapter discusses and reviews the literature regarding the crime prevention initiatives and theories related to community security, focusing on CPTED evaluation and preventive program effectiveness.
2.2 History of Kampung Melayu Ampang
Kampung Melayu Ampang has a special history as an early settlement of the Malays which was gazetted in April 1964. (Article Utusan Melayu, March 7, 2015). Existence of Kampung Melayu Ampang has been a catalyst for opening several areas including Kampung Seri Tanjung, Kampung Seri Melor, Kampung Melayu addition, Taman Kosas and Taman Datuk Ahmad Razali.
