Our eyes are not always reliable as we think. We cannot always use our eyes or ears to investigate. We must also use a pure heart and mind. But none of us alone can obtain that. We must call upon God for that. The irony of this story was that the murderer was a man of law and justice. Sometimes people aren’t always what they seem. Justice Wargrave brought them all together, using his knowledge of the court, so he could just tear them apart later. He faked his own death to make the last survivors turn against each other. Judge Wargrave devised a plot to kill for his own private amusement (p.262).
