Joseph Smith was a searcher of truth who inspired thousands, founded Mormonism, and left a legacy that blessed many. Some may say that Joseph was a fraud or a fool. There are also many who believe he was called of God and a maurder. In truth, his life long mission was to search for and establish the truth that God revealed to him. This search led him to be called as a prophet of God, and establish The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. To Joseph it was very important to follow the commandments that God gave him, which included leaded the saints to Zion. One centerpiece of the gospel is The Book of Mormon, which Joseph Smith translated with the help of many scribes, and through revelation from God. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. He was called of God, and through God was able to restore the church. Restoring of the church all started with the first vision, which is when he was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ. When Joseph Smith was only 12 years old he began to read the Bible regularly, which led to the event of him studying , which is when he came across the scripture of James 1:5. “ If any of you lack wisdom let them ask of God, that giveth to all man liberally and…show more content…
One great responsibility he had was the building of temples. Joseph Smith was a part of the building of 2 temples. He helped with the Kirtland Ohio, and Nauvoo Illinois. Before technology was so advanced, it would take many years to build a temple. After a temple was complete, there would be a detecation for the temple to be the house of the lord. In the temple, the saints have the chance of being closer to God,and doing temple work for the many who had passed on, and did not have the chance of getting that work done for themselves.
