Jennie Finch is the daughter of Doug and Bev Finch and grew up in La Mirada,
California. She is the youngest of three children. Her dad Doug spent countless hours
working with Jennie over the years to make her the athlete she is today. She grew up a
huge Dodgers fan. On winter vacation in Iowa one year she packed a snowball and
heaved it to where they couldn’t see it. Her dad rigged a trampoline so on the night that
he worked late she could pitch into the trampoline and the ball would bounce off and
come back to her.
By the age of 10 she was on a traveling all-star softball team traveling around
suburban Southern California. When she was on a 12 and under softball team, she led the
California Cruisers to an American Softball
