The HST MD program resonates with my passion for biomedical research and my career goal of translating immunotherapies from bench to bedside. Through my diverse research experiences in both academia and industry, I have developed an intellectual, practical, and independent perspective of biomedicine that has prepared me for the challenges of the HST MD curriculum. I believe that the HST MD program will help me develop the…show more content… There I combined a physical science and chemical engineering approach to synthesize a novel green tea-based biomaterial that could release drugs in a controlled and sustained manner. Equipped with the ability to tackle complex biomedical questions from my previous research experiences, I developed my own experiments and quantitative models to evaluate the green tea biomaterial’s kinetics, rheology, and biocompatibility. I also pitched and tested an initiative to use this biomaterial for the controlled delivery of nanoparticles. The confidence and investigative independence I developed in this setting will prepare me for a self-directed learning approach within the HST MD
