In stanza V of T.S. Eliot, "The Hollow Men,' Eliot uses allegory, motif, allusion, symbolism, repetition, and foreshadowing to bring forth the contradicting ideas of hopelessness and faith. He compares them to the aspect of war. Elliot uses allusion to refernce different events or traditions in his poems. In line 91, he states, "For thine is thy Kindgom," this alludes to a prayer in Christianity.Even though Eliot repeats the line a few times, he never finishes it; however, it could also represent a loss of faith.
