Back in the 1900s, America believed that candy was a healthy meal. They didn’t believe that it was unhealthy and it caused terrifying diseases. Well, it turns out that candy does a lot of terrifying things to your body. It can destroy your life and even kill you. Who would ever think a bag of skittles or a cupcake could do so much harm. Since the days of Chase's Lozenges, a lot of things have changed about candy and people are way more aware now of what it can do. There are three articles that prove this. It has lots of sugar and other ingredients which are bad for your body. As we came closer to the 1990s, people found out that candy wasn’t as nutritious as an entire meal. In the article “How Candy took over America” it says “Many Americans thought that candy was as nutritious as an entire meal.” This shows that Americans thought candy was nutritious. Another thing that has changed since the days of Chase's Lozenges is now people know that candy is bad for you. It can cause many bad things to happen to your body. It can be life threatening. In the article it says, “New studies have linked high sugar diets to a host of terrifying diseases such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease etc. This shows too much sugar is bad for you. The last thing people have seen change since the days of Chase's Lozenges is that there are a lot of sugar in foods and they didn’t even know. They could be hiding in any of the foods that you are eating. In the video it said that sugar can be hiding in any food that you really like to eat. This shows that sugar can be hiding in any foods that you like to eat. Sugar is very bad for you and some people don’t even know
