Hinton, 1965, Page 24) How is the evidence persuasive?: This evidence is persuasive because it shows that people believe that all greasers are trash. Quote or paraphrase of evidence: Cherry states,”You don’t see a kid grease and a Soci cheerleader together often.” Citation: (S.E. Hinton, 1965, Page 30) How is the evidence persuasive?: This evidence is persuasive because it explains that the greasers are below the Socs, so they could never be together. Counterargument-What does the other side think?: The Socs believe that since the greaser cannot compare to them, then they don’t have problems that are as big as theirs. What is wrong with the argument?: What is wrong with this argument is that both greasers and Socs are human so they each have their equal share of problems with varying difficulties. What evidence disproves the counterargument?: As Randy talked about Bob with Ponyboy he stated,”That was what he wanted, for somebody to tell him no, set the limits, give him something solid to stand on.” Citation: (S.E. Hinton, 1965, Page 116) How is the evidence persuasive?: This evidence is persuasive because it demonstrates to us that both sides have their share of problems.
