In the novel The Postmortal by Drew Magary, we find ourselves in a reality where scientific advancement has provided society with a cure for aging. People who receive the cure are called "postmortals", and although they cannot die of old age, they can still die of diseases such as cancer. In Figure 2 we see an ad for a "Holy Grail", which is a fad for partying in which postmortals will drink from the lavish looking decorated cups to celebrate having been given the cure. The Grails are chosen at a Grail shop which sell all sorts of different decorated cups to suit the taste of the consumer. Many of the Grails are decorated with fake gold and gemstones. The ad pictures a particular model of Grail, the DX3490, which John sees at Derrick's Grail
