This quote relates to Eleanor Roosevelt and her life because I feel like that's how her marriage was with Franklin D. Roosevelt. Eleanor Roosevelt contributed to fighting for humans’ rights, racial rights, and women’s rights. She fought for workers, poor people, women, and black people. Eleanor had her own column in a newspaper. Franklin Roosevelt suffered a polio attack in 1921. After that happened, Eleanor took action and helped out his political career. Eleanor changed the role of being a First Lady immensely. She also worked for the League of Women Voters. Eleanor also focused on poor countries and troops. During World War 2, she traveled abroad and visited U.S troops. Eleanor was heavily criticized by many people, but while that happened, she was praised by others. She was one of the first public officials to publicly bring forward issues through the mass media. Franklin Roosevelt died on April 12th, 1945. From 1945 to 1953, she served as a representative for the United Nations General Assembly. Eleanor also became chair of the UN’s Human Rights Commission.
