Discuss The Arguments Against Spanish Colonization

The Spanish colonization seemed like a good development but it brought a lot of chaos when the Spanish became in contact with the indigenous people of the New World. Bartolomé de las Casas’s main argument is basically how the Spanish began by wiping out large amounts of natives and then this eventually evolved to enslaving them and putting them through hard labor instead of just killing them. “Now, in 1546, Peru daily witnesses acts of a spine-chilling barbarity unequalled by anything seen before, either in the New World or anywhere else on earth…”(Casas).
