Dean Winchester was born on January 24, 1979 in Lawrence, Kanas to John and Mary Winchester making him four years older than his younger brother, Sam. After their mother was killed on November 2, 1983 by the demon Azazel, John stumbled onto the supernatural world after investigating Mary’s death. Since then, John became a hunter himself and vowed to keep hunting until he found Azazel and avenged Mary. Due to John’s hunting activities, the Winchesters constantly moved around the country, living in motels. Dean had a large hand in raising Sam due to John's constantly being away to hunt which solidified his relationship with Sam and causing Sam to become distant with John. Dean admired at his dad, often considering him a hero therefore he is always seen following his dad’s orders without any questions. However, later on that changes after it becomes clear how absent he was as a father. Dean was trained at a young age to be hunter often saying he was “raised to be a solider” which meant he was not able to experience a normal life which also affects him later on in his adulthood. He started off having that boyishly charm only to be replaced with that of a “rugged hero.” In my opinion, he was one of the greatest anti-heroes. He dedicates himself to save the lives of innocent people, but after years of hunting monsters, he turned into one himself. Trying to bring Dean to life was a bit challenging because it takes more than just a few words to make someone understand the concept of Dean. No matter how much he is described, in order to really bring him to life, one needs to experience him. To see for themselves the hardships life has dealt him and to witness his downfalls and his battles. My words will not do him justice, but the writers over on Supernatural, as well as the actor, created something brilliant with this character and I would not have it any other
