Secondly, the Genesis is the first book of the Bible, which was written to record God’s creation of the world. In the first seven days, God created the heavens, the earth and everything that lives. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth./ And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep./And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters…” Later, he made humankind in his image, and gave them charge over the earth./ “Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being” To conclude, the Genesis is a series of events days by days telling how God creates the world and the humanity piece by piece and the love…show more content…
The primary distinction in these stories is the beginning of each account. The Enuma Elish begins with salt and fresh water, the Genesis begins with God and the Theogony begins with Chaos. Another important contradiction of these accounts is also the way the world is created. In the Enuma Elish, the world is created by mixing of two primary waters and later is finished by Marduk using Tiamat’s corpse. Although the Genesis and the Theogony don’t share critical similarities, they still aims at describing how the world is created. On top of that, there are fours key factors showed how these tales are different from each other: the beginning, the content, the style and the creation of humanity. Personally, I’m impressed by how contrastive the Genesis is between two other tales. The Enuma Elish and the Theogony both
